Breaking the Seal: Inspired Action

I figured if I didn't just go ahead and write a blog post, I might never do it again. Well, I suppose that is unlikely. However, I have been trying to use the Law of Attraction principle of aligning, getting inspired, and then taking action. I had not been feeling inspired to take action. I need to reconcile that with the desire to keep this blog updated on a regular basis.

Also, there has been a lot going on astrologically that has led me to feel very inward. So, I have gone with that. Following the energies. How about you? One of the more basic things seems to have just been the sun in Scorpio. Last night, the sun moved into Sagittarius, and I feel more inspired. I guess I felt inspired sometimes in the past month and a half. But I would get ideas, and then not have the time or inclination to push them this far out into the world.

I have also been considering some shifts in this site. (Some of them being, Manifest Laboratory: Now with more swearing and drinking!) I have been trying to figure out ways to make that happen. (Well, I can figure out the swearing and drinking. I am more thinking about my own domain and a redesign.) I have been ruminating on all of this. And stewing in Plutonic (Scorpio) juices. Perhaps I am pushing out again. Not to mention all the crazy, wonderful, but time-consuming stuff that has been going on with my husband Kevin's writing career. Lots of energy there. (Plan to write more on that later.) At any rate, I am here. That is a start. We'll see where it takes us.

You can also follow me on Facebook or Twitter. (My Facebook automatically feeds to my Twitter.) I tend to throw a lot of things up on Facebook b/c I'm a Facebook geek and I'm there most of the time anyway. That is a good place to check in if I ignore the blog for too long.

It's all a work in progress. Or, as Neale Donald Walsch might say, "We're making it all up." Good thing this is a laboratory! A friend today said that I am the intersection of motivation and relaxation. I rather liked that. Seems like inspired action.

Thanks for reading.

What about "opposites attract"?

This morning I awoke thinking about the concept of opposites attracting.

As far as conscious creation goes, I've been mostly working with and talking about the law of attraction. Simply stated, the law of attraction is "like attracts like". But what about "opposites attract"? We've all heard that (and seen to a certain degree) our whole lives. How do we reconcile the two?

To begin with, the two ideas are not necessarily logically mutually exclusive. You can have opposites attract and likes attract, right? My thinking is yes. However, my studies in astrology have taught me a deeper truth that makes sense of this apparent paradox. Opposites are actually two sides of the same coin. Opposites by their very nature have something in common. Opposites are like a continuum of the same idea.

You may ask for an example. Well, lets say astrologically speaking we are talking about the opposite signs of Pisces and Virgo. (The moon is in Pisces today and I've been talking about Pisces a lot.) If we talk about the trait of details as related to these two opposite signs, we would say that Virgo is all about details and Pisces sometimes can only see the forest and not the trees. (And even then sometimes the forest is kinda hazy.) So, it's opposite. But the whole thing is still focusing to some extent on details. There's the like inherent in the opposites.

Like attracts like AND opposites attract. Nice.

Daily Focus 11/26/08

Last workday before the Holiday!

Could not resist that.

Today is a great day.

My head is swimming with ideas for my new eco-consultant business! Of course, that is not the work I'm doing today. I do like, however, that the following list of affirmations can pretty much apply to all my current ventures:

Quoting myself:

I attract clients who are abundant.
There are more than enough of these clients.
I attract lots of clients who choose to be successful.
I attract lots of clients who are willing to make changes.
I attract lots of clients who respect me and my time.
I attract lots of clients who are fun to work with.

I have a new one:
I attract clients who are willing to invest in themselves.

I like that. I was thinking of replacing the "abundant" one, but I like them together.

I attract clients who are willing to invest in themselves.

I am also excited that Pluto moves into Capricorn today. (I have not yet read that article I linked to, but I thought I should include something for people who don't know about astrology (which tends to be most people.)) Pluto was in Capricorn earlier this year and then it retrograded back into Sagittarius for a few months. My experience with Pluto in Capricorn was that I was much more willing to follow a structured plan. I enjoyed doing my budget and staying within it. It was like a game. I'm hoping it will make it easier for me to stick to my healthy eating goals, too. (Once it went back into Sagittarius, it felt like a chore or a cage!)

Capricorn is about responsibility and structure, among many other things. To be honest, I'm ready for some. So, yay! It happens around 11:00 am PST today. I'm sure on a global scale we will also be seeing major news and upheaval with big business (shocker, I know!). Pluto will be moving through Capricorn and transforming everything business-related. It should get interesting folks! At the time, it sometimes doesn't feel great, but when it's over, you can usually see just why it's so good the transformation happened.

Ok, I need some time for my coffee, so I best stop blathering and add in some more focus.

Today, I am in the flow.
Nothing is more important than that I feel good.
My finances are rockin' (in a good way!)
My mental energy is strong and engaged.
My family is happy and healthy.
A shout out to Kevin's back: Get in line! Kevin's back is healing nicely.
I am following my health goals better than ever, thank you very much, Pluto!

Have a great day, everyone!

Results

Allrighty. What have I manifested for myself recently?

Yesterday, I had a big day at work. That was good for abundance.

Zane got into preschool. It is free. That's huge. Childcare/school that is teaching him for roughly 9 hours/week. Free. AND he loved it.

Today, I thought I had to pay a bill for about $170 and found out I had already made the final payment. Cha-ching.

Kevin's store. Still rocking.

Ok, I better just quit while I'm ahead on this computer thing. I'm getting some funky results. Typical Mercury Retrograde stuff.

I am a magnet to money!

Mercury Retrgrade Affirmation

Mercury turned retrograde today.

I feel compelled to share this with people. If you're not familiar, check it out here.

Anything starting with re- is generally a good thing to do during Mercury Retro. Read, relax, revise, remember, restore... You get the idea. (I've already re-vised this entry like 3 times!)

Generally, weird things happen that you think could be really bad and take a lot of time and sometimes some money, but usually aren't too serious in the end. Mercury is the trickster.

For example, today already, I dropped my coffee twice in the car on the way to work. It was a bother, but didn't hurt anything and I still had plenty of coffee left (thank goodness for lids)! A co-worker called in with a mysterious illness. She wasn't sure if she could make it in or not. She was trying to get in to the doctor, but didn't know if she could. She got to the doctor and they said they've seen this weird thing (We've seen it on her, too, she's not faking), but they have no idea what it is. She wasn't able to come into work. We had to cover her clients. There was some hustle, but it all worked out. One lady ended up coming in 25 minutes early for her appointment, which was perfect because that was the only time I had available to help her. It all works out.

My favorite watch-words for Mercury retrograde:
Patience
Humor

I decided that humor sounded like more fun.

My affirmation today is:
"Lots of funny things happen during Mercury Retrograde"

I've seen it happen already today. It's been pretty funny. I choose funny! Right as I decided that my affirmation for the day is "Lots of funny things happen during Mercury Retrograde," one co-worker who DID make it in, did the funniest little dance in greeting me. Law of attraction, Baby.
