This is so freaky. But so cool. I've been wanting a new phone. But I use the one I have now about once a month. I know, I am a freak. I couldn't really justify the expense. So I get on Facebook and see that one of my friends is selling pretty much the exact phone I was considering. But I'm still having a hard time justifying it. I mean, I am quitting my job, right? I start thinking of making him an offer somewhat less than his "buy now" price. As I'm thinking this, he writes to me with the exact price I'm considering.
I'm thinking, "Well, maybe this is a sign." But, getting back to the whole "I don't really use my phone and I maybe shouldn't spend money on something I don't use right now," I am thinking I probably shouldn't buy it. When I still can't justify it, he tells me he will give me the phone for a little bit of PR work. I felt a little weird about it at first, but then I realized that's just the way of the universe. So, right on. I'm getting a new phone!
Thanks universe!
Thanks friend!
A little bit of background on this situation. It's been a few months since I even thought of that phone. I had given up on it. Sometimes that's how it works.

Manifestory: Window Magic
I wasn't planning on writing today. But Christine Kane has inspired a tad bit of discipline, so what the heck. (Thanks, Amy.)
Here's just a little manifestory.
Today, I went walking with a dear friend of mine. When I met her at our agreed-upon walking place, she was having troubles getting her car window to shut. I just watched her. Didn't say much. She wasn't sure she was going to be able to shut it. She was a tad concerned because she had some items for camping in the back that she didn't want prey to thievery. I just watched, thinking, "That window's just gonna shut for her." She was putting it down a little and up a little. Each time it would go up a little more. She seemed ready to give up on it. I just kept thinking, "That window's just gonna go right up." And sure as shit, it did.
Enjoy practicing some magic in your day. If you feel like it, tell us about it!

Manifestory: Elephants
Yesterday, I was having a conversation with a colleague about manifesting. We were ruminating over why we could not just snap our fingers and produce something. Her example was an elephant. She wanted to know why she couldn't really produce an elephant right there.
I said, "That is annoying. Let's manifest that we go see Abraham and ask them that question."
And she said, "Abraham will just say that if I really believed it I could."
I said, "Hrmph. Yeah. I think you don't really want an elephant here, either."
She said, "Well, maybe a baby elephant. And then I could just *snap* and say 'back to your mother.'"
It was a fun conversation. Semi-serious exploration into the nature of manifesting and our abilities therein.
Today, as I was trying to get my kid ready for preschool, he kept bugging me to go upstairs with him. Then he made me wait outside the bedroom, because he had a surprise for me. Time was short and my patience was getting a little short, but I was trying to be a nice mommy, so I went for it all. When he called me in, he handed me something wrapped up in his swim trunks. (His creative version of wrapping paper in the moment. He's like Secret Agent Sydney Bristow from the TV show Alias. He uses what he has.)
So he said, "Happy Christmas!" And handed me this:

The only message I can glean from this is to trust the universal timing and delivery? Because, really, this was much more charming than if we had actually gotten an elephant to show up at work. In reality, that probably would not have been so great.
As my friend would say, "The universe is so cool!"

Manifestory: Luke!
I thought I'd take a moment to tell a quick manifestory.
I very much remember the moment when I started to bring our dog, Luke, into our lives. We stopped at our neighbor's house on the way home from walking to the store. We were new to the neighborhood. We had just met her recently. She was an idyllic picture, in her front yard, doing some gardening.
Just to set the stage a little, she is a beautiful woman, who lives with her family in a house from around 1900. It's very well cared for. They have a gorgeous white picket fence in front, lined with beautiful rose bushes. As she took a break from working in the front yard to chat with us (I could go on and say she was wearing a flowing white dress, but I think it was really a green tanktop, crop jeans and a cowboy hat), her three little dogs are running around, chasing each other. One's a yorkie, another's a yorkie poo (1/2 poodle), and the smallest is the yorkie poo's pup. So cute! As we're admiring the dogs, she just picks one up and hands it to each of us. Yeah, we fell in love that day. With all of them.
Fast forward about 3 months. The yorkie (who had been our favorite) had pups the day after our wedding anniversary. We ended up getting one of them 2 days after Christmas (for a great deal because by now we were all good friends).

He must know I'm talking about him, because he just came and begged me for a treat.
Funny, I just realized, that this past summer, we ended up hosting all the dogs in our front yard quite a few times. So, I had the COMPLETE experience of having not just 2 or 3 little dogs running around in a cute little pack, but all FOUR of them. That was really fun. So, not only did I manifest the dog, but I manifested almost the EXACT scenario (minus the gardening, because really, I'm not into that right now). Interesting. And I wouldn't even have noticed that if I hadn't stopped to write this story. Very interesting.
The treat hound is back on my leg. Gosh. He's so darn CUTE! And smart. He tells us all the time what he wants. Just now, I had to let him upstairs, so he could look out his favorite window.

(I seem to tell longer stories than I plan.)
Now I know that having 4 little dogs in their yard going nuts might not be everyone's idea of fun, but it sure was mine. It was especially fun for my 3 year old, which I loved, too!
And it all goes back to that moment in the driveway of my friend's yard, when I said to myself, "I want that!" And so it is.

Manifestory: Experimenting on the Kids
Quick story. (Mostly because I don't remember the exact details.)
One night last week, Kevin and I were sitting on the porch while our kids + 1 were running around our yard. Kevin is a bit stressed and sick these days from quitting smoking. He's getting better every day. But he also was a bit stressed by the way the kids were playing. He was having a really hard time relaxing, and he kept commenting (a nice way to put it) on how stressful it was and how he didn't like the way the kids were playing. It was pretty crazy and annoying for our little after-dinner coffee break on the porch.
So, I said, "Hey, let's do an experiment."
I said some words like, "These are all great kids. They are just having fun. They can do it in a harmonious way. We've seen it happen before. They certainly can play nicely now." I don't know exactly what I said, but it was something we could believe. It was MAGIC. Their energy shifted right before our eyes, they all started playing nicer, and then shortly thereafter, the kid who wasn't ours left. It was very cool.
The end. (for now)

Manifestory: Conversations with God
Hey, I just came up with a new word: manifestory! I had originally entitled this Manifesting Story, but I like my shortened version so much better. That's what I'll be calling them. Manifestories. That's fun. So, without further ado...
The book Conversations with God came to me exactly when I needed it, exactly when I was ready for it, as is the case with anything. It ended up being a huge eye-opener for me, bringing me a lot of joy and information to bring myself to more joy. Basically, it offered a whole new world view that really made sense to me. The author, Neale Donald Walsch, was raised Catholic, like I was. We had come from a similar spiritual tradition and had both decided it wasn't really for us in the long run. However, I don't want to get into too many specifics about the book here. I just loaned out my well-worn, dog-eared, written-in copy to a friend for the first time. That was big for me. I don't know if I've ever loaned it out before. I never wanted to have it that far away from me. That's how much I loved it. But one of the coolest things was how it came to me.

I worked for a somewhat large company at the time. This was sometime in the mid-1990s. I was somewhere in my early to mid-20s. The HR department was having these big contests. You could win all sorts of prizes. Now, I had been raised in the "I never win anything" kind of family. Consequently, I almost never won anything. I looked over the list of prizes for this contest, which I believe was basically a raffle, and I thought, "I don't even WANT any of these prizes." Mostly they were giving away sporting events tickets and things like that. I don't really attend sporting events.
However, at the end of the list there was prize I wanted: a free New York Times Bestseller every month for a year. This was very exciting to me. I love books and I wasn't making a whole lot of money at the time. I very specifically remember a moment that stands still for me. (I see a similar moment in many of my manifestation memories. I'll probably share more.) At that moment, I thought, "That prize is for ME. That prize is MINE. No one deserves or will appreciate that prize more than I will. It is MINE." I had a certainty. I felt a power. And then I didn't win it. Just kidding. (Although I do have some stories like that I can tell.) I DID win it. And then a month or two later, I used that prize to get Conversations with God, which then explained to me how I had manifested it. Cool.
